De Aar Central project

Situated in De Aar, Northern Cape Province, the De Aar Central project will boast a 342 MW installed capacity, making it South Africa’s largest single-unit solar power plant. This facility will deliver clean energy to major data centers and various commercial and industrial users across South Africa.

The agreement marks a significant milestone for POWERCHINA, strengthening its role in South Africa’s renewable energy sector. It also aligns with POWERCHINA’s commitment to advancing the Belt and Road Initiative and supporting China-Africa cooperation goals set during the FOCAC Beijing Summit. Through this project, POWERCHINA aims to bolster South Africa’s green energy transition and contribute to its broader economic and social objectives
