The Australian Pump Industries have introduced a new hydraulic drive pump that is able to handle dirty water. The new high head cast iron semi trash hydraulic drive pump is set to deliver a maximum flow of 1100l per minute and a maximum head to 55m.
The Aussie G3TMK-A/ST HYD is a 3-inch self-priming pump close coupled to a powerful Casappa hydraulic motor capable of handling a wide range of applications. These are inclusive of dust suppression, drill rigs, tankers, mine dewatering as well as moving contaminated water.
Generally, hydraulic drive pumps source their power from the equipment on which they are mounted. This thus allows operators to benefit from virtually unlimited power, which is delivered through a flexible drive system that is independent of shaft or separate engines.
This feature comes as an added advantage since it enables pump placement in the most appropriate location with significantly low operational and maintenance costs. This is through the elimination of a separate petrol or diesel engine to drive the pump.

It is important to note that the new Aussie G3TMK-A/ST HYD comes to bridge a gap in the market as the first of its kind to handle dirty water. Aussie Pumps product manager Neil Bennett notes that the pump, at a maximum head of 47m delivers 500 lpm flow. This, he says, is impressive for a 3-inch self-priming semi trash pump.
Key features of the hydraulic drive pumps include excellent self-priming characteristics. The pump has the ability to draw water from 6-metre deep pits in addition to being able to pass solids up to 16mm. This makes it suitable for handling drilling fluid.
The pump’s interior is also fitted with hard wearing silicon carbide mechanical seals. The seals have an alumina counter face with nitrile rubber elastomers. The exterior has a stainless steel wear plate and motor shaft; as front opening clean-out port. This serves to grant easy access to the pump’s internals.
