Enshore wins contract for cable works on Senegal Power Compact project

Enshore Subsea has announced a successful bid for cable works on the Senegal Power Compact project. The project is a major infrastructure initiative aimed at transforming Senegal’s power infrastructure.

Enshore secured a contract worth US $200M for cable works as part of this program. The firm entered into a strategic Joint Venture with Belgian hydraulic engineering company Herbosch Kiere to manage the engineering, procurement, construction, and installation (EPCI) contract. This contract includes both land and submarine works for two 17.5km 220kV links, connecting Bel Air in Dakar to Cap des Biches.

Senegal Power Compact project

The offshore works are scheduled to begin in October 2023 and are expected to continue until the third quarter of 2025. In the Joint Venture, both Enshore Subsea and Herbosch Kiere will share 50% of the responsibilities for the project, emphasizing collaboration between the two companies

The Senegal Power Compact project is being financed through a partnership between the US-based Millennium Challenge Corporation and the Senegalese government. Enshore Subsea and Herbosch Kiere have stated their intention to focus on local capacity building and skills development as part of the project. This approach aims to involve and empower the local community and businesses.
