Megapipes in partnership talks with government of Kenya

Weholite HDPE manufacturing company, Megapipes Solutions Ltd, yesterday held a partnership talk with the Ministry of Water Sanitation and Irrigation to offer Storm Water Management solutions as well as Water Storage Solutions using innovative Weholite technology.

The team led by Megapipes Country Director Simon Thomas, paid a courtesy call to the Chief Administrative Secretary (C.A.S), Ministry of Water Sanitation and Irrigation, Dr. Andrew K. Tuimur, at Maji House, Nairobi where the C.A.S invited Megapipes to partner with The Ministry.

Dr. Tuimur, applauded Megapipes Solutions Limited for coming up with the technology saying that the project is a subject to be encouraged. He further said that the Ministry is infrastructure based and a major enabler of all industries noting that matters concerning sanitation are important. The C.A.S also pointed out that centralized sanitation system was lagging behind.

He welcomed the partnership with Megapipes Solutions Limited saying it is a way of offering employment and also an opportunity of training the upcoming Water Engineers and urged Megapipes to consider absorbing Kenya Water Institute graduates.

In attendance were; Irrigation Secretary, Mr. Aboud Moeva, Festus Mutuku representing the Water Secretary and Robert Maina from Megapipes Solutions Limited.

Megapipes Solutions manufacture Weholite pipes which are of large diameter that have proven to be a sustainable solution with a lifespan of over 100 years and are suitable for municipal and industrial applications. According to experts, Weholite pipe does not rot, rust or corrode due to any chemical or electrical reaction in the soil.

Megapipes states that he urgent requirement for better systems, that would be able to cope with larger volumes of waste and stormwater, in fast-growing urban environments; led the firm to study new large diameter pipe technology, already widely used with big success in other parts of the world. Megapipes Solutions Ltd made the visionary decision to opt for Weholite HDPE structured wall pipes, manholes, chambers and tanks, a technology that has gained traction in Kenya.
