Davis & Shirtliff is hiring Mechanical Design Engineer

The Davis & Shirtliff Group is the leading supplier of water and energy solutions in the region. The group is Kenyan based and operates through a network of Kenyan branches as well as regional subsidiaries in Uganda, Tanzania, Zambia, Rwanda, South Sudan, DRC and Zimbabwe.

The company has a total complement of over 800 highly trained and professional staff spread across the region and seeks to fill the position of Design Mechanical Engineer at Nairobi Head office.

The successful candidate will report to the Engineering Designs & Documentation Manager and be charged with the following responsibilities.

  • Must have upper 2nd class degree in Mechanical/Production/Manufacturing Engineering or equivalent from a recognised institution.
  • Member of recognised Engineering body.
  • Minimum 2 years’ experience in a busy manufacturing environment.
  • Must be proficient in using CAD software such SolidWorks & AutoCAD.
  • Must be able to interpret engineering drawings with ease.
  • Possess high personal and professional integrity.
  • Capable of effectively managing a team of engineers and technicians.
  • Possesses knowledge and is experienced in production planning techniques
  • Able to institute continuous improvement of production processes and products
  • Knowledge and experience in any of the following will be an added advantage: Smart Manufacturing, Industrial Automation, PLC-HMI/SCADA/BMS.
  • Project management skills including ability to organize, schedule, prioritize and multi-task in a dynamic environment.
  • Strong relational intelligence, interpersonal soft skills, communication and writing skills.
