Genser Energy launches 110km natural gas pipeline in Ghana

Genser Energy has unveiled a 110km natural gas pipeline in Ghana. This initiative, forming part of a broader 430-kilometer network, is designed to provide more affordable and reliable energy sources for Ghanaian industries, particularly in the Ashanti Region.

The pipeline is situated at Anwomaso in the Oforikrom Municipality. During the launch ceremony, Genser Energy’s Board Chairman, Okotwareasuo Osei-Nyampong VI, highlighted the importance of the project’s third phase, which includes the establishment of five gas stations. These stations, comprising Block Valve Stations (BVSs) and a Regulatory Point Station (RPS), are strategically located to optimize gas distribution and supply chain efficiency.

Investing in energy

Osei-Nyampong VI emphasized the project’s commitment to serving the Ghanaian people by delivering affordable and dependable energy solutions. He expressed gratitude for Genser Energy’s ongoing investment in Ghana and reiterated the company’s dedication to collaboration with energy sector stakeholders to ensure consistent access to affordable energy nationwide.

The endorsement of the project by His Royal Majesty Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, Overlord of the Asante Kingdom, underscores its socio-economic significance. Otumfuo Osei Tutu II emphasized the positive impact of the pipeline network on power generation costs and highlighted its potential to position Kumasi as a pivotal hub for future development and job creation. He also praised Genser Energy for its relentless efforts in realizing the project’s objectives.

“The commissioning of this expansive pipeline network carries immense socio-economic benefits for our nation because it will facilitate the delivery of cheaper gas for power generation,” said Otumfuo Osei Tutu II.
