The world’s largest independent manufacturer of proportioning and dispensing systems, Hydro Systems, has officially introduced AquaBlend Xtreme, a water-driven pump (WDP) compatible with organic acids and other highly aggressive chemicals used to treat or medicate water lines. In addition to the traditional advantages of Hydro Systems’ AquaBlend injector, the Aquablend Xtreme features enhanced longevity and reliability while remaining cost efficient.
According to Hydro Systems Global Product Manager Scott Campbell, today, many different chemicals are used to keep livestock healthy, including organic acids, but not all WDPs can handle these aggressive chemicals or adjust measurements as chickens and pigs grow.
“Compatible with numerous highly aggressive chemicals, the AquaBlend Xtreme provides farmers with a durable, versatile and long-lasting WDP that cleans and sanitizes water lines, while also administering the right amount of vaccines or vitamins with every use,”
said Campbell.
As farmers phase out antibiotic use, water lines face an increased risk of biofilm build-up, attracting diseases like E. coli and Bordetella. WDPs can be used to clean and sanitize water lines, but if a WDP fails due to use with highly aggressive chemicals, it can lead to animal illness or over-medication, resulting in sick or dead flocks along with increased cost due to chemical waste. Hydro Systems’ AquaBlend Xtreme has been tested and proven to work with multiple harsh chemicals, including peroxides, chlorine and acetic acid.
The AquaBlend Xtreme uses Hastelloy springs, a PVDF body, PVDF lower end and engineered fluoroelastomer seal materials. Along with expanded chemical compatibility, the system offers easy, tool-free maintenance when needed and features enhanced modularity and a large injection range. Beyond agricultural settings, the AquaBlend Xtreme can be used in a variety of environments that require the frequent use of highly aggressive chemicals.
