Senegal to host 4th edition of MSGBC Oil, Gas & Power Conference Exhibition

The MSGBC Oil, Gas & Power Conference Exhibition is set for a fourth edition in Senegal. The conference aims to leverage the success of initiatives like the Sangomar Oilfield Development and the Greater Tortue Ahmeyim (GTA) project, both expected to start production in 2024.

The event which has been slated to take place on December 3-4, 2024, is poised to be transformative, with the potential to shape the future of energy collaboration in the MSGBC basin. The invitation to delegates to explore the boundless potential of the region and participate in discussions about projects, developments, and investment opportunities underscores the conference’s significance.

The participation of influential figures, including Mohamed Ould Ghazouani, President of the Islamic Republic of Mauritania, in the 2023 edition underscores the importance of the region.

The diverse slate of project developments, both in hydrocarbons and renewable energy, indicates a comprehensive approach to energy security and a just transition. Additionally, the focus on regulatory reforms, cross-border infrastructure projects, and the development of Special Economic Zones reflects a holistic effort to enhance the region’s enabling environment for business.

The emphasis on renewable energy growth, such as the US $34bn billion green hydrogen project in Mauritania and other initiatives across the region, highlights a commitment to sustainable and clean energy solutions. The integration of renewable energy with hydrocarbon projects is a notable aspect of the region’s energy strategy.
