Uganda is set to host the 10th edition of ARE Energy Access Investment Forum (EAIF 2025). Hosted at Speke Resort Munyonyo in Kampala from April 8 to 10, 2025, the event will bring together over 1,000 participants to explore opportunities in renewable energy and expand electrification in underserved communities.
The forum, organized by the Alliance for Rural Electrification (ARE) with support from GET.invest, aims to drive meaningful investment and foster strategic partnerships to improve energy access and sustainability.

EAIF 2025
Uganda’s Minister for Energy and Mineral Development, Hon. Dr. Ruth Nankabirwa, expressed the country’s dedication to advancing energy access and sustainability. She highlighted that Uganda is honored to host the forum, underscoring its importance as a platform for driving progress in energy access, decarbonization, and climate action. Hon. Okasai Sodranoius Opolot, State Minister for Energy, echoed similar sentiments, emphasizing the forum’s role in attracting investments and accelerating sustainable energy solutions in Africa.
David Lecoque, CEO of ARE, emphasized that EAIF 2025 marks a decade of progress in the DRE sector. He highlighted the forum’s significance in fostering collaboration among investors, businesses, and policymakers to accelerate global energy access and sustainable development. The event will feature matchmaking sessions, interactive discussions, and an exhibition showcasing innovative solutions from both local and international companies. Attendees will also have opportunities to engage in workshops and networking receptions to strengthen business relationships and knowledge exchange.
The forum has secured strong partnerships with leading global organizations, including UNDP, Africa Minigrids Program, Energy Catalyst, IFC (World Bank Group), ADEME, ZE-GEN, and CEEW. Major sponsors include African Development Bank (AfDB), ADA, ComAp, ENGIE Energy Access, and Schneider Electric as gold sponsors; EnGreen, ennos, Shell Foundation, and Zimpertec as silver sponsors; and SkySails, Turbulent Hydro, Victron Energy, and Welight as bronze sponsors. The Uganda National Renewable Energy and Energy Efficiency Alliance (UNREEEA) will serve as the national partner, reinforcing Uganda’s commitment to advancing renewable energy solutions.
