PEAP project details

The first phase of the PEAP, which covered the towns of Kribi, Bafoussam, Bamenda and Sangmélima, was completed in 2021, providing additional daily production of around 38,000m3 for all the towns concerned.

Moving forward to the second phase, there are ambitious plans for further rehabilitation and expansion of water production facilities, along with the enhancement of distribution networks. The Garoua-Boulaï project, slated for completion in 2026, is a notable part of this phase, aiming to improve water infrastructure in the Eastern region. This includes rehabilitating existing intake points, expanding treatment capacity, and constructing necessary storage infrastructure.

Maroua is also a focal point for Phase 2, with the construction of new boreholes and storage reservoirs to bolster water production capacity. Yabassi and Garoua are set to benefit as well, with rehabilitation and extension projects planned to meet growing water demand in these areas.
