Magare Company Limited, the newly appointed Sales Partner for Hytec Services Africa in Tanzania, has secured an HSA containerised hydraulic hose workshop to further extend its reach in the country.

Supplementing Magare’s Mwanza branch’s ability to provide hydraulic equipment and services to mines in the Lake Zone Region around Mwanza, the containerised hydraulic hose workshop became operational on 1 January 2021.

Housed in a Hytec-branded 40-foot shipping container and operational on Magare’s premises, the mobile workshop is always ready for mobilisation to provide comprehensive services on any mine site. It’s fully equipped with crimping and cut-off machines; and stocked with hoses, fittings and adapters; hose grinder and skiving equipment.

Delivery and setup were prompt, allowing HSA personnel enough time to carry out staff training, which included product identification codes and part numbering, fitting identification and hose-making. Louis Potter, Africa Development Manager for HSA, spent 3 weeks on site in Tanzania to oversee setup and training.

“Considering the challenges of 2020, Magare has successfully entered the hydraulic market in Tanzania,” Louis points out. “They have a solid footprint on the mines in Tanzania and, through the containerised workshop, are now empowered to offer hose making services. We believe this added service offering will allow them to expand their footprint, as well as incorporate other hydraulic components into its offering in the future. Magare has employed personnel that understand the local hydraulics market and its challenges. This, too, will ensure future growth.”

Since the official set up of the containerised workshop, there has been growing interest from potential users and sure signs that this is going to be a successful venture.

To satisfy envisaged demand for the Bosch Rexroth hydraulics range, Magare is in the process of building a larger workshop at its premises in Mwanza. They also have an operation in Dar Es Salaam to cater to the requirements of the hydraulics industry in the capital city and surrounding areas.
